Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions apply to all guests booking stays, tours, tastings, or events at any property within The Cork Life portfolio. By confirming a booking, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. General Principles

1.1 The Cork Life is a collection of premium estates in Portugal and France. These terms apply to Quinta da Boa Esperança (Torres Vedras), Quinta do Cardo (Beira Interior), and Domaine d’Alussia.

1.2 We reserve the right to refuse entry or cancel a booking where it is reasonable to do so for the safety of our staff, the protection of our heritage sites, or the comfort of other guests.

1.3 All prices are correct at the time of publishing but are subject to change. Confirmed bookings will honor the price at the time of payment.

2. Booking & Payment

2.1 Accommodation: For all villa and room bookings, a deposit or full payment (depending on the rate type) is required at the time of booking.

2.2 Tours & Tastings: Full payment is required in advance for all wine tours, tastings, and picnic experiences.

2.3 Events & Group Bookings:

· A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure the date.

· The remaining 75% balance must be paid no later than 8 weeks (56 days) prior to the event. Failure to pay the balance may result in the cancellation of the event and forfeiture of the deposit.

3. Cancellation & Amendments

3.1 Individual Stays & Experiences:

· Cancellations made more than 21 days prior to arrival may be rescheduled once to a future date within the same season (subject to availability).

· No refunds are provided for cancellations made within 21 days of the booking date.

3.2 Group & Corporate Bookings:

· A minimum of 8 weeks (56 days) notice is required for any date changes.

· If a group booking is cancelled with at least 6 weeks (42 days) notice, 50% of the deposit paid may be refunded at our discretion. No refunds are provided for cancellations with less than 6 weeks’ notice.

3.3 No-Shows: Failure to arrive for a scheduled booking without prior notice will result in the full charge being applied.

4. Estate Rules & Safety

4.1 Working Farms: Our properties are working vineyards and agricultural estates. Guests must follow all safety signage and staff instructions. We accept no responsibility for injury caused by a failure to follow safety advice.

4.2 Sustainability & Nature: To protect our local ecosystems (including our cork oak forests), the use of BBQs, open fires, or drones is strictly prohibited without prior written consent.

4.3 Pets: Due to the presence of farm animals and protected wildlife, dogs are only permitted within the vineyard property.

4.4 Professional Photography: Commercial filming or photography (including wedding shoots) is not permitted without a prior agreement and may be subject to a location fee.

5. Liability

5.1 The Cork Life and its properties are not responsible for any loss or damage to personal items brought onto the estates.

5.2 We are not liable for any failure to perform our obligations due to circumstances beyond our control (Force Majeure), including extreme weather, agricultural emergencies, or national restrictions.

5.3 Guests are liable for any damage caused to the property, vineyard equipment, or historic structures during their stay.

6. Privacy & Intellectual Property

6.1 All content, imagery, and branding related to The Cork Life, Quinta da Boa Esperança, Quinta do Cardo, and Domaine d’Alussia are protected by intellectual property laws.

6.2 By visiting our estates, you consent to being photographed or filmed for promotional purposes if such activities are taking place (clear signage will be posted in the area).

7. Property-Specific Notes

· Quinta da Boa Esperança / Quinta do Cardo: As active wineries, certain areas (cellars/production lines) may be restricted during harvest season for safety reasons.

· Domaine d’Alussia: Specific villa rules regarding guest capacity and noise levels apply to ensure the tranquility of the estate.
